Come…

Come…
Come to Me.
Come to Me all those who are weary and carry heavy burdens.
Come to Me all who are thirsty.
Come near to God and He will come near to you.

It is a decision. An intentional action. Out of my own will. I can choose whether to come near or not. No one can make me. And therefore, I cannot make anyone else.

We tend to be self-sufficient people. In all areas of our lives. And unfortunately, this also seeps into our spiritual life as well. But is that what life is about? To live self-sufficiently or is this a deception from the enemy?

Some days, most days, I am tired. Exhausted. Worn out. I feel like I am either running on a hamster wheel afraid of stopping or I feel like a lady who is treading water with her head tilted back and only her nose and mouth are out of the water.

Some days, most days, I just want help! I don’t want to do this alone.

Some days, most days, I feel so parched. So dry that I feel numb. No taste. No sensation. Quenching this thirst doesn’t seem to work by anything I do.

I get frustrated at the promised things that will make me feel better…according to the ads, commercials, magazines, books…even social platforms.

So…when I remember (I do forget because I am currently being transformed and I am a recovering CF) … I take a deep breath. Breathe in for three seconds. Hold for three seconds. Breathe out for three seconds. And…I come. I come to Jesus. I draw near to Jesus. He wants to do life with me. He will not make me choose Him. I have to choose to come to Him. And when I do, my circumstances don’t change, but sometimes my perspective does. Sometimes the peace I have changes everything. Sometimes knowing that He is holding my hand and collecting my tears is enough for me to persevere, to keep going.

Come…choose for yourself. You don’t have to do this alone. You have Someone that will quench your thirst. You have Someone who will place His yoke beside you and help carry the burden. You have Someone Who will draw near to you when you choose.

I am ONE story,
