Researching. Asking. Seeking.

Through One story, my story, Jesus, will be made known.

Let’s journey the road less traveled together.

I am ONE story. A hot mess of a story, a ‘once was lost, but now I’m found’ story, a continuing story, a ‘this book is not yet finished’ story.

Welcome to my story. I hope to encourage you to not give up on having a personal relationship with the Lord. My parents brought me to church every Sunday, and I attended Vacation Bible School each summer. But I knew there was more. So, I had to learn and scramble on my own – researching, asking, and seeking. I want to help you with my journal, process, and ups and downs. To put words/Scripture into where you are questioning, pondering, wondering, scrambling. I would love to come alongside you and do life together. I have had enough life to last me. My journal takes vulnerability to an uncomfortable level, but that is life, right? Uncomfortable at times. Uneasy. Unknown. Lonely.  I am honest and raw in my journal, which makes me relatable.

What do you do with all the emotions, the feelings? All the hurts and all the scares? What do you do with all the changes swirling in you and those swirling around you? What do you do to process everything? I am currently studying the book of Psalms and I not only appreciate what this ...

Have you ever had to hold something for a long time? Picture it. Remember the feeling. There you are holding it. The item is getting heavy. You start readjusting your stance. Readjusting your hands or how you are holding the item. You start breathing heavy. Your hands start to sweat. If you drop it, it ...

28 years ago, on May 31, 1997, I married my best friend. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon, exactly seven years after we became a couple. It started on May 31, 1990, on our 8th grade field trip to Mackinac Island. We were on the same bus. His friend, Aaron, asked me for him if ...

Meet

Kristy

I was born with the name Kristine, which soon evolved to Kristy, or “Sunshine,” by my dad. I was born in August as a centennial baby and arrived on my maternal grandparents’ 40th wedding anniversary. A small-town girl who married her High School sweetheart, or should I say Middle School sweetheart? Six years after saying “I do,” graduating from a local university, and buying a starter home...we had kids. Three boys in three years. When the last one entered kindergarten, my husband and I fasted and sought the Lord for what was next. We moved forward with adopting a sibling group of two. So now we have five kiddos, all within eight years of each other. Four boys and one red-headed girl.

I am short with tiny feet and can usually find size six shoes on clearance at any store. I am a stay-at-home mom with a degree. I am a homeschooling mom. We sold our house to become debt-free. I love books and enjoy walking/hiking. I love the sun! Vitamin D is crucial in this girl’s life. Dance parties in the living room or kitchen. Control freak. Orphan. Anxiety/depression. Adult children – there are not enough books on this unchartered territory. Adrenal Fatigue. Functional medicine. Generational cycle breaker. Perfectionist. People pleaser. Conflict avoider. Firstborn. A belt survivor.
